Penwyllt, Brecon Beacons
For our second trip of term, we're headed to the open expanses and dramatic edges of the Brecon Beacons, in South Wales, in a combined trip with the Cambridge University Caving Club. The bunkhouse lies at the foot of the Black Mountain and a short distance from Pen y Fan, while underneath it lies over 30 miles of cave system: Ogof Ffynnon Ddu. The hills are great, the national park's a Dark Sky reserve, there's the possibility of trying caving, and if that's not enough for you there's over 220 life-size dinosaur models on the other side of the valley.
