Club Diary

Forthcoming trips

All trips: Trips are open to Club members (sometimes non-members are accepted at the committee's discretion). You will need normal hillwalking equipment (see the Club's Mountain Safety Guidelines); the committee can - and will - refuse to take people on walks whom they feel are inadequately equipped. The club does have some gear for loan - ask the Equipment officer.

Unless otherwise stated, weekend trips leave from Cambridge on Friday afternoons (usually around 5:30pm); day trips early in the morning (around 7am). Longer (vacation) trips generally require members to make their own transport arrangements, arriving on the evening of the first day.

See here for information about how to sign up for trips, and look out for messages on the email list for trip announcements.

Maps specified are Ordnance Survey Landranger (1:50 000) and Explorer (1:25 000) series; Harvey maps are also available for some areas at 1:40 000 or 1:25 000 scale.

Friday 19 to Tuesday 23 March 2010
The Easter Trip this year will be to Capel Curig.
Weekend 8 and 9 May 2010
A trip to the Tan y Wyddfa cottage in Ryd Dhu in Snowdonia. We haven't visited this cosy little place for a few years, but it's well located for some slightly different ascents up Snowdon and other hills.
Weekend 5 and 6 June 2010
We end the academic year with a weekend trip to the George Starkey Hut in Patterdale in the Lakes. There is camping nearby and some of those who have finished exams are likely to extend their stay into the following week.
