Seathwaite - weekend FULL; last few places for other nights |
We are fully booked for the Friday and Saturday nights of our New Year trip to Borrowdale (6-11 January 2011), but there are still a few beds remaining for Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights. If you're interested, email me (jcs74) as soon as possible and by 22 December at the latest. See Michaelmas Bulletin 6 for more details about the trip. |

Hello Hillwalkers,
The end of term is rapidly approaching, along with the cold weather - must be time to book your Seathwaite place! If you can get your cheque to me before you leave Cambridge it would be enormously appreciated, so see below for details and get straight onto it. As this is (hopefully) the last word from me this term, please note that I will be away without internet (and limited phone signal) from Christmas Eve until 12 January, so will be unable to respond to last-minute queries about Seathwaite! |

Hello Hillwalkers,
Read on, my friends, for details of the final trip of term, an invitation to spend more time in the pub, and the dates of the (fabulous) New Year Trip. What more could you want? |

Hello Hillwalkers,
Thought you might be getting bored of my emails, so the second half of this one is written by Joe. Send all grammatical and factual errors his way! Report and photo links from last weekend's Caseg Fraith trip will be on the website later this week (as soon as I've got the trip book back after [ahem] leaving it at lunch yesterday). Having survived the manic logistics of running a 43-person trip, I'm rather looking forward to a nice small one next, and I hope you'll join me (though not all 1600 of you, obviously)... |

Socials |
Morning all,
After much frantic organisation we bring you one rather sizeable chunk of
diary-filling social excitement. So large in fact that I may indulge in a
few bullet points... |

Hello Hillwalkers,
Great to see lots of you getting involved over the past couple of weeks! For those who couldn't make it to the Squash (or just want to re-live the experience), the slides from both the introductory presentation and the photo compilation are online here. I hope everyone who came to Edale enjoyed themselves (it'd be quite a feat not to, with that weather!) - the trip report and photo links are on the website here. And now, without further ado, let us turn our attention to our next proper mountain fix... |

Hello Hillwalkers,
A very warm welcome to everyone who's recently joined the mailing list, either over the summer or at the Societies' Fair - and an equally warm welcome back to everyone else! Hopefully you're not too inundated with emails to read this one now, but if you are, then you can always find it (and indeed all club emails) online here. Our website is regularly updated and should be your first port of call for all things CUHWC-related, including general and specific information about membership, trips and socials, plus photos and reports from recent trips - so have a look around if you haven't already, and bookmark it now: www.cuhwc.org.uk

'High Society' Issue 1 out now! |
Despite the club's distinctly scientific leanings, it seems that at least some of our members have a literary side after all. Contrary to most expectations, the first issue of our new journal has actually come to fruition, featuring previously unpublished reports and ramblings from various club members, plus photos, a selection of silly things people have said on trips, and even a mountain-themed cryptic crossword. |

Join CUHWC in Scotland this September! |
If your summer so far has been lacking in hills, then join us for a few days on the west coast of Scotland! (If it hasn't, that's no excuse - there's no such thing as too many hills.) We'll be camping at Shielbridge Campsite from 18-26 September - you can come for as many or few nights as you like. All are welcome, whether you're an old hand, have only just joined, or have been lurking dormant on the mailing list for years and never quite made it on a trip...
This is a great chance to get a bit further afield than we can in term time and to walk in some bigger, wilder hills. |
