Tuesday, 20 December, 2016 - 11:58 Glencoe Trip, March 26th-31st Hello everyone, In something of a break from tradition, we're running a trip to Scotland's amazing Glencoe during the Easter Vacation. We have 14 spaces booked in the Scottish Mountaineering Club's hut at Lagangarbh, right beneath Buchaille Etive Mor. The more astute of you will have twigged that Glencoe in March is likely to be in winter conditions (i.e. covered in snow and ice).
Monday, 12 December, 2016 - 11:49 Swaledale photo competition: result! Hi everyone, Thanks to everyone who sent in entries for our Swaledale photo competition. The stunning weather over the trip weekend made for some beautiful photos of winter sunshine, clear skies and glistening snow across the dales. Popular themes included snow, the meandering river Swale, snow, dramatically posed sheep, and more snow. I was overwhelmed by the standard of the entries, so I handed the judging over to our aesthetically gifted president David.
Friday, 18 November, 2016 - 17:05 Michaelmas Newsletter 4 Hello everyone, Just one item on the newsletter today, which is our trip to Swaledale next weekend! We're staying in a bunkhouse near Reeth, which is at the Northern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's not mountinous, but it's a landscape of bleak and beautiful moors, and very wild. The Tour De France passed by a few years ago - it's that good! As it's our last trip before Christmas/Bridgemas, we'll be cooking a full Christmas dinner and having our very own carol service - for those who want to join in!
