  • Tuesday, 17 August, 2010 - 16:12 - Join CUHWC in Scotland this September!

If your summer so far has been lacking in hills, then join us for a few days on the west coast of Scotland! (If it hasn't, that's no excuse - there's no such thing as too many hills.) We'll be camping at Shielbridge Campsite from 18-26 September - you can come for as many or few nights as you like. All are welcome, whether you're an old hand, have only just joined, or have been lurking dormant on the mailing list for years and never quite made it on a trip...

This is a great chance to get a bit further afield than we can in term time and to walk in some bigger, wilder hills.

  • Sunday, 13 June, 2010 - 13:26 - Easter Term Bulletin 4

    Hello Hillwalkers,

I hope everyone who came to the garden party and overnight punting yesterday enjoyed themselves - a big thank you to the Social Secretaries for all the planning, flawless execution and superb cake! Hill-wise, reports and photo links from the Roaches and Patterdale trips should be on the Trip Book section of the website soon - and keep an eye out for details of next year's trips, which will be added shortly.

    1. Graduating or leaving Cambridge? Keep in touch with the club!
    2. Summer socials and the discuss list
  • Tuesday, 25 May, 2010 - 09:10 - Easter Term Bulletin 3

    Hello Hillwalkers,

I hope you've been enjoying this week's taste of summer, whether that's meant taking your revision outside, increasing your ice cream consumption, swimming in the Cam (accidentally or otherwise!) or simply enjoying your walk/cycle to work a little bit more than usual.

  • Wednesday, 5 May, 2010 - 15:56 - Garden Party and Overnight Punting

    Hello everyone,

hope you are all managing to maintain some form of social life and not doing too much work. I'm sure the excitement of May Week hillwalking activities will keep you going. It's only 5 and a half weeks away...!

    So:

GARDEN PARTY will take place in the gardens of Newnham College on Saturday 12th June, from 3-6pm. There will be lots and lots of food, drink and good company and hopefully lovely sunny weather. The cost is £8 and includes all the food you can eat (and probably more).

  • Sunday, 2 May, 2010 - 21:52 - Wilderness First Aid Course – 17th & 18th June 2010

The club is running a Wilderness First Aid course at the end of this term, on the 17th and 18th of June. This will be a great opportunity to learn or refresh first aid skills, and improve your ability to deal with incidents on the hill (or elsewhere!). The course is certified to Remote emergency care level 2 which is widely recognised.

The course will be run at Jesus College, in the Forum (where the Ceilidh was). The dates should still be in everyone's residency period, as they are the tail end of may week.
